Database Synchronization

Today we are going analyzing the current database of the CLA members and see what fields need to be imported into the YM database.

Here is the process:

1) Define current data fields
2) Configure YM database to match
3) Research additional YM configuration and enhancements
4) Download current DB
5) Import to YM
6) Test, evaluate, and modify YM database

When the site goes live, there will be support needed on a timely basis as login questions will inevitable.

 * YM is YourMembership.com hosting services.

Follow-up:

We have a company providing membership database services. This is a login to another site where members manage their contact and membership information.

Considering a tight deadline, I don't want to interrupt / move that database at this point. Therefore, we are leaning towards downloading existing member contact information in importing to the new site. Let members simply manage their information on the new site and we will periodically export the updates and import that information to the existing database.

A data synchronization plan using the YourMembership API services is being developed. Basically, authentication and data sync can be accomplished between the two databases.
